Y’all….you’re life is about to be forever changed…..
I did something for my birthday that my hips (and probably yours too) will hate me for forever…like forever, forever…..I made homemade ice cream….and it was really easy!!
And it wasn’t even hard, which makes things even worse because laziness can no longer be an excuse to not consume the goodies….le sigh, I’ll haveta find another excuse not to eat all the food….
Also can I just point out how amazing these photos turned out? I’ve been really working on my photography skills (as in iphone skills) and incorporating props and stuff. Have no fear though, plenty of awful food photos are in the Blonder Side’s future. I’ve made all my recipes for the next month all around the same time and just haven’t posted them…so don’t get too excited lol.
No-Churn Smore’s Ice Cream
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 14oz can condensed sweetened milk
- 1/2 cup marshmallow cream
- teddy grahams or graham crackers
- chocolate bar or chocolate pieces
I found the recipe here, but I didn’t want this flavoring so I changed it accordingly. Seriously so yum and tastes just like anything you’d buy at the store if not better! The first 2 ingredients on the list are really the only ones you need to remember, then just add in whatever mix-ins you’re feelin.
In one bowl use a mixer to whip the heavy cream into stiff peaks. But if you have any choppin or melting to do I recommend you do that first. I chopped the chocolate and smashed the cookies before getting started. Once you’ve attained stiff peak status, pop the marshmallow cream in the microwave for like 15secs then mix it with the condensed milk.
Finally fold all ingredients into the stiff peaked heavy cream. Pour into a bread pan, at least that what all the cool kids do. Wrap tightly in saran wrap and freeze for 4-6 hours. Although I’ll admit that I forgot the saran wrap step and mine turned out just fine. I wrapped it after I ate some though so it might make a difference long term, what do I know.
Anyone ever made ice cream before without a machine? What flavor would you make??
